Converting SAT to ACT Score

Does anyone know how to convert an SAT score to an ACT score, or vice versa? I'm trying to figure out which test I should focus on and would like to know how my scores compare. Any resources or advice would be great!

You can use a concordance table to convert SAT scores to ACT scores and vice versa. The College Board and ACT have jointly developed concordance tables as a tool for students, educators, and counselors to easily compare scores from both tests.

Here's a brief outline of the conversion process:

1. Find your total SAT score (sum of the Reading and Writing module and the Math module) or ACT composite score.

2. Refer to the SAT-ACT concordance table, which has columns for both SAT and ACT scores.

3. Locate your score in the appropriate column (SAT or ACT). Then, look across the row to find the corresponding score for the other test.

For example, if you scored a 1350 on the SAT, you would find that the equivalent ACT score is approximately 30. This may help you decide which test you feel more comfortable with and want to focus on. It's essential to remember that these conversions are approximate and may not accurately represent your skills across both tests.

The concordance tables can be found on either the College Board or ACT websites. Alternatively, you can search for "SAT to ACT concordance table" in your browser, and you should find tables to help with the conversion.

However, before solely relying on these conversions to make a decision, it's a good idea to try a full-length practice test for each exam. For the SAT, the College Board's website and Bluebook™ app offer free practice tests. For the ACT, you can find free resources on ACT's official website as well.

Taking practice tests can help you identify your strengths and weaknesses from both types of tests and give you a better understanding of which one is better suited to your abilities. Good luck!
